Adeyeye Loses To Olujimi At Appeal Court

Senator Dayo Adeyeye, the sacked Senator and former Spokesman of the Senate, has once again lost his appeal case against his close opponent, Senator Biodun Olujimi, of the Peoples Democratic Party, at the Appeal Court.

Justice Uzor Anyanwu of the Court of Appeal, Kaduna, during his ruling on Wednesday, nullified the election of Adeyeye and upheld the tribunal’s judgment, declaring Senator Olujimi as the winner of the Ekiti South Senatorial election which held on February 23.

Anyanwu, after the judgement, ordered INEC to issue a certificate of return to Olujimi.

Recall that the electoral umpire had declared Adeyeye of the All Progressives Congress winner of the National Assembly election.

But Olujimi, who was dissatisfied with the result, headed to the tribunal to seek justice, noting that she had the highest number of votes in the election.

The former deputy governor of Ekiti State further asked the tribunal to nullify Adeyeye’s victory, claiming electoral fraud during the process.
