Governor Bello Plots To Shift Kogi Governorship Poll By Two Weeks

Funsho Akinwale

There are indications that the Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, is making moves to shift Saturday’s election by two weeks.

The move, according to Austin Okai, the Deputy Director, Public Communication of the Campaign Council, is a result of the governor’s present confusion after the public opinion polls and the general feelings of party members that the governor may likely lose the election if INEC goes ahead to conduct the poll on Saturday.

The commission, however, is yet to postpone the election, as the Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, Mr Rotimi Oyekanmi, a few days ago urged the public to avoid disrupting Saturday’s governorship elections in Bayelsa and Kogi States.

Meanwhile, in preparation for the poll, several supporters and voters across the state have travelled from far and near, to enable them elect the candidate of their choice as the next governor of Kogi State.
