The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has said that his party is the only one people can join if they want to be in government.
Oshiomole said this in a chat with State House correspondents after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari and the party’s state chairmen at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
"If people are leaving PDP to come and join APC in Edo State, that is the most potent, bold statement about the level of confidence that even the people in the opposition recognize that if they want to be in government, the party to join is the APC," he stated.
The former governor of Edo State also confirmed the state’s desire to retain the state in the next gubernatorial elections.
"We are committed to retaining Edo, particularly now that we have Bayelsa added to Edo, the more reason we cannot do anything which in our opinion, can possibly lead to APC losing Edo State,” he stated.
He claimed his investment resulted in the eventual winning of PDP in the 2008 election when Obasanjo was in power. He reassured everyone that the APC was not at risk of losing Edo State in the next election, adding that the Edo people accepted APC as a preferred party in 2008.
