The Minister of State for Transport, Gbemisola Saraki, on Friday, frowned upon the demolition of her father’s property, ‘Ile Arugbo’, by the Kwara State Government in the early hours of Thursday.

The Kwara State governor had claimed that the property did not have Certificate of Occupancy (C of O), adding that no money was paid to the state purse before the land was grabbed by the late patriarch of the Saraki dynasty, Olusola Saraki.

Saraki, while reacting to the demolition, faulted the governor’s decision, stating that the family has a history and she is proud of it.

“So many things have happened last year, in fact, right up to the very dying hours of the year, but we will continue to take brave and faithful steps,” she said.

“We will continue to walk in the light even though we have no idea what will happen next, though we are comforted, encouraged and reassured with this: ‘But they plan and Allah plans and Allah is the best of planners’ 8:30.

“So GRS Family, we are going to be known NOW as GRS-OLOYE Movement.

“We have a history and we are proud of that history.

“May Allah forgive the sins of ALL our dearly departed and may He make us worthy representatives of all that they stood for,” she said.
