2023 Elections: Discussion On Zoning Is Too Early - Tinubu

The former Lagos State governor and National Leader of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, on Tuesday, said that talks over succession plans of the Buhari-led administration, for now, should be discarded. He added that it’s also too early to talk about zoning as regards the presidential slot for the 2023 elections.

Tinubu who spoke with the State House correspondents on Tuesday after he visited President Muhammadu Buhari for a brief meeting said, “It will be mere restlessness to talk about it now.”

He advised that attention should be focused on good governance since the APC government just got a second term. He noted that “this is not the time.”

Meanwhile, according to ‘Punch,’ "The former governor of Lagos State is one of the names regularly mentioned as a possible APC presidential candidate in 2023 when power is expected to be zoned to the South."
