Atiku Explains Why He Was Seen With APC Leaders In Abuja

The former presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has explained why he met with Tinubu.

Atiku stated that his meeting with the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja, had no political undertone.

Atiku also met with political leaders including, the Vice-President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo; the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, and other political heavyweights in Abuja on Saturday at the Al-Nur Mosque in Abuja during the wedding Fatiha of Ribadu’s son, Ismaila, and his now-wife, Amina.

Atiku, who was seen engaging in lively and cheerful discussions with the political heavyweights, said through his Media Adviser, Mr Paul Ibe, in an interview with ‘Punch’ in Abuja, “When people are invited to a wedding Fatiha, nobody should make undue interpretation beyond that, otherwise every other meeting at every other wedding or social event will be interpreted one way or the other."

He questioned, “How can there be a political undertone? Has wedding become a place for political meetings?"

He reiterated that "The same way people across political divides attended the wedding Fatiha of Atiku’s son two weeks ago in Kaduna is the same way he attended Ribadu’s son’s wedding Fatiha.”

Other dignitaries at the wedding event include Governor of Katsina State, Aminu Masari; former Governor of Sokoto State, Aliyu Wammako; former Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, and former Governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi.
