Ihedioha: PDP Set To Protest Judgement

Funsho Akinwale

Prince Uche Secondus, the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, on Friday, disclosed that the PDP National Executive Committee members have resolved to protest against the judgement of the Supreme Court which sacked Emeka Ihedioha, the PDP Imo State governorship candidate.

Secondus, who briefed newsmen at the emergency meeting held in Abuja, said the planned protest was to inform Nigerians that injustices had been done to the party by sacking the governor.

He noted that the party’s mandate, given by Imo State electorates, was snatched by the ruling party, saying that the declaration of Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress as the state governor was a miscarriage of justice.

The National Chairman posited further that justice would come from Almighty God, adding that the aggrieved PDP leaders must speak out against injustice as their silence would be taken for consent to the alleged injustice.

“Nigeria is getting to an end if we continue this way. Our party governed very well from 1999 to 2015.

“As true democrats, we handed over party to the ruling party, hoping that it will deepen democracy, alas we have been disappointed,” Secondus stated.
