Ganduje And Tambuwal’s Supreme Court Cases To Hold Today

Funsho Akinwale

The Supreme Court will today give judgement on the Kano and Sokoto States governorship elections respectively.

The two sitting governors, Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto and Abdulahi Ganduje of Kano, will know their fate today after the apex court ruling.

As expected, palpable fear has gripped their followers, with many making intense prayers and fasting ahead of the ruling.

Abba Kabiru Yusuf of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is challenging the victory of Ganduje of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the state governorship election. Abubakar of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has also vowed to retrieve his stolen mandate from Tambuwal through a legal battle.

Reports also suggest that adequate security has been provided in the two states ahead of the ruling to combat chaos during or after the ruling.

Sokoto Police Spokesman, Muhammad Abubakar, while briefing newsmen, said that security measures have been put in place to forestall any break down of law and order.

“The 1,000 deployed officers and men are in place across the state with a sizeable of them within the metropolis.

“l can also assure you that security agencies are ready for any eventuality. However, for now, there is no cause for alarm,” Abubakar stated.
