Adebiyi Adeleye, the Special Adviser on Political Matters to the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has reacted to the certificate forgery case against him.
Adeleye, while reacting to the allegations, said it was the plot of his opponents to try to soil his name in the mud.
He added that the matter was before the court.
The politician, according to informed sources, has been sued at the Federal High Court, Abeokuta, for perjury and presenting forged school certificates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ahead of the 2015 election.
However, Adeleye explained that he had been cleared by the court since 2016.
“I wonder why this is coming up now. I was a local government chairman and lawmaker and won these suits in court.
“I have heard of double jeopardy and not triple jeopardy. You took me to police, the police vindicated me.
“You took me to court the first time, the court vindicated me,” he said.
