Nwosu Backs Uzodinma’s Governorship

Funsho Akinwale

The governorship candidate of the Action Alliance (AA) and former Chief of Staff to Imo State Government House, Chief Uche Nwosu, on Tuesday, accepted the Supreme Court judgement that reinstated Senator Hope Uzodinma as the governor of Imo State.

The new development has laid to rest the rumor that the in-law to ex governor Rochas Okorocha was heading back to court to challenge the apex court ruling that he was the original candidate of the ruling party in the state.

Briefing newsmen in Owerri, the Imo State capital, Nwosu debunked the rumour that he is heading to court. Instead, he said he would offer his unflinching support to the governor rather than head court .

“I want to state categorically that the party, including the structures in the state have accepted the Supreme Court judgement that affirmed Senator Hope Uzodinma as the governor of our dear state.

“We are not in any way fighting against that judgement that has given our party the victory due it; but we shall only do nothing less than give our unalloyed support to the new government of Senator Uzodinma.

“We are elated that the injustice we faced at the tribunal and Appeal Court had become a thing of the past and so we are using this avenue to commend the judiciary for still remaining the last resort of the hopeless,” Nwosu stated.
