Alhaji Sambo Dasuki, the former National Security Adviser, on Thursday, made his first appearance in court after he was released from detention.

Recall, Dasuki was detained in prison despite being granted bail by the court.

The former national security adviser appeared before Justice Ahmed Mohammed of the Federal High Court in Abuja for his trial. The trial, which borders on money laundering and illegal possession of firearms, was instituted against him in 2015 by the office of the Attorney-General of the Federation.

Checks confirmed that none of the two other cases was held since December 24, 2019, when he was released from the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS).

His lawyer, Olukayode Ariwoola, withdrew two separate applications filed against the continuation of his trial without being released from prison.

Ariwoola, while addressing the court, said there was no longer need for the case after his client had regained his freedom.

Justice Mohammed, who presided over the case, struck out the applications and adjourned the trial till March 11 and 12.
