The Kogi State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, on Thursday, said it will commence hearing on the application challenging the second term election victory of Governor Yahaya Bello of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Justice Kashim G. Kaigama, who led a three-man panel, dropped the hints after receiving all petitions concerning the governorship election.

The Justice, in his address, said the tribunal was ready to begin the hearing and determination of all pending applications. He added that the pre-hearing session would begin on February 10, 2020.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Prince Wada, who is one of the prominent petitioners challenging the election, claimed that the poll was marred with all forms of irregularities and non-compliance with the 1999 constitution’s electoral laws.

He added that the election was daylight robbery, arguing that the APC agents in connivance with security operatives rigged the poll in favour of the ruling party.
