We Are Not Preparing For 2023 Elections - PDP

David Ugbabe

The Katsina State chapter of The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has stated that the present administration has failed, as they have not been able to deliver on their three-point agenda: economy, security, and the fight against corruption.

This, the party said is enough to change the minds of Nigerians who have had enough under the administration of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

According to the National Secretary of the party, Senator Umaru Ibrahim Tsauri, who spoke to the media, in preparation to the ward’s congress election held on Saturday, he said: ‘’Nigerians have now realized their error in voting Buhari since 2015 elections, see what happened to him in Kebbi state recently, if you recall, the three key promises of Buhari, which one has he fulfilled and which one is left?’’

Therefore, he reiterated that the PDP is not preparing for 2023 campaigns because; the failure of the present APC administration at the centre, had paved the way to wrest political power at the end of the present tenure.

“Buhari has campaigned for us already by his failure. If Buhari is sincere on the fight against corruption, he should probe the past administrations from 1999 till date,’’ he added.

He added that on their part, the party has already apologized to Nigerians for their past failures while assuring that should the party return to power in 2023, it will repair the damages caused by APC led administration.

However, he admitted that the crisis rocking the state chapter of the party was only in 4 of the 34 in the state, however, stakeholders are actively involved to resolve the challenges.

As regarding any court injunction barring the party from conducting its ward election in the state, Tsauri refuted such, adding that ’’if our legal adviser did not draw our attention about any court injunction then we cannot work based on newspaper reports, so the ward elections must go ahead ‘’
