COVID-19: Taraba PDP Suspends State Congress Indefinitely

The Taraba State chapter of the the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the postponement of its planned local government and state congresses which were scheduled to hold on Saturday.

The State PDP Chairman, Victor Bala, who announced this, said the postponement was in compliance to directives from the party’s National Headquarters asking it to discontinue all party activities, hence, its scheduled state congress has been postponed indefinitely.

Also, speaking through the party’s Publicity Secretary, Inuwa Bakari, the Chairman of the party further stated that the suspension of party activities was also in compliance to the orders by Governor Darius Ishaku banning assembly and congregation of up to 20 persons.

Meanwhile, it was gathered that the National Secretariat of the PDP in Abuja, had issued a directrive to all states to shutdown all PDP secretariats.
