Nigerians lighten up after defeat

Happenings

The journey to  AFCON 2015 which began on October 11 2014 in Sudan, ended for Africa’s defending champion, the Super Eagles with a 2-2 draw against South Africa’s Bafanabafana at the Uyo stadium on Wednesday evening.

While many were anxious to see the Super Eagles defend their title in this critical match, it didn’t seem much of a surprise that the Keshi-led team could qualify for the African Cup of Nations competition taking place in Equatorial Guinea next year. The good thing is the boys didn’t need to go home, they are already home.

One thing you can’t take from Nigerians is their ability to create humour out of a devastating situation. Before the refugee’s whistle went off at ’96th minute, more than a few memes were already making the rounds on social media and they are quite interesting.
