Twitter War: Ezekwesili takes on Army spokesperson, Olukolade

Nigeria’s former minister Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, popularly known as ‘Madam Due Diligence’, clearly stepped on a sore foot when she seized the occasion of the Armed Forces Remembrance Day on January 15, to take a swipe at those who according to her, control the country’s “Security resources”  asking them “to REPENT of corruption & poor management”.

Dr Ezekwesili on her Twitter page, joined other Nigerians earlier in the day to celebrate Nigeria’s ‘fallen heroes’, and other military personnel who lost their lives in the last few years as they engaged Boko Haram insurgents in fierce battle.

She bemoaned the alleged unresponsiveness of the military to recent attacks by the terrorist group against Biu, the largest town in Borno state, which comes only a few days after the mass killings recorded in Baga.

She however, attracted the wrath of the military spokesperson, Gen. Chris Olukolade who took her headlong over what may have been considered sensitive security issues, labeling her one of those “PROSECUTING the COUNTER INSURGENCY EFFORT”.

But Madam Due Diligence who has been actively involved in the #BringBackOurGirls group, is clearly not one to back down in the verbal war that followed, involving the Director of Nigeria’s Defence Information.
