“Scandal” star Kerry Washington’s husband, Nnamdi Asomugha, recently moved out of the couple’s California home, sparking rumors that the couple’s marriage is on the rocks.
According to a report by MediaTakeOut, Washington is begging Asomugha to go to couple’s therapy to help save their troubled marriage.
Other sources claimed that the reason for the impending divorce had to do with Asomugha’s jealousy over Washington’s fame and success, especially with her hit ABC series “Scandal.”
“The root of the problem is that Nnamdi feels threatened by Kerry’s success,” Radar Online reported.
A source told the publication, “Nnamdi’s bitter because he feels he should be the breadwinner.”
Meanwhile, this is not the first time that Washington’s marriage is being questioned. In the past, the actress has kept a tight lip on the issue.
At that time, a source told Hollywood Life, “The divorce is not happening. They are actually excited for the holidays as a family and have no drama in their lives. Leave that for the TV show.”
Divorce rumors originally broke out a few months ago after reports claimed that Asomugha was hiding his real sexual identity.
“Everyone on the NFL knew he was gay, and he’s slept around a bit, even once with a former Philly player who is now out of the closet, and who I am now friends with, thus I have direct information on. Now that he has switched careers to acting, he’s been seen for example, at Thursday’s John Wooten Awards even in NYC chatting up an unknown young man for the whole night and leaving with him,” a source told SportsWorldNews in February.
Washington and Asomugha have been blessed with a daughter, Isabelle Amarachi.
In other news, Washington could be seen on “Scandal,” which airs every Thursday on ABC network.
