An inappropriate joke made by Clint Eastwood mocking Caitlyn Jenner’s transgender status during the taping of the Guys Choice Awards is set to be cut before it is televised.
The 85-year-old actor made the remark during the Spike TV event on Saturday when he was introducing Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.
According to Hollywood Life, as quoted by dailymail, the Oscar winner made his faux pas when he compared the San Andreas actor to former athletes who have gone on to establish careers in acting.
He then mentioned: ‘Jim Brown and Caitlyn Somebody…’ during the taping which took place at Sony Pictures Studio in Los Angeles.
The comment failed to raise laughs from the audience, and instead drew groans, it was claimed.
According to the website, Clint told producers the joke wouldn’t work.
The ceremony is due to air on June 18, and according to USA Today, the gaff will be cut when it is televised.
David Schwarz, Spike TV senior vice president of communications, told USA Today: ‘We will remove the reference in the version that will air.’
Caitlyn, 65, made her debut as a woman on the July cover of Vanity Fair proudly showing the world she embraced being a woman.
