Former England midfielder Steven Gerrard is reportedly planning to spend an astonishing £100,000 on a kids’ adventure playground in the grounds of his new mansion.

The Liverpool legend is having a £3 million five-bedroom home built for him in Merseyside, but it’s the features designed specifically for his children that are perhaps the most eye-catching.

The £100,000 for the playground is an eye-watering sum in itself, but it is particularly remarkable when the individual items are considered.

Gerrard has a £10,000 giant wooden Wendy house included in the plans, according to the Daily Mirror, along with a £2,000 tree-house and lounge area which of course includes wifi.

What is all the more astonishing is the fact that Gerrard and his family will only be occasionally visiting the property with the midfielder having signed for MLS club LA Galaxy and ready to settle in Beverly Hills.
