Hollywood producer and writer Heyward died on Saturday aged 30, according to an article on Sunday by Us Weekly.
His death was confirmed by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office but an official cause of death was not confirmed.
Odom, 35, also lost good friend Jamie Sangouthai who died on June 14 aged 37 after acquiring ‘a flesh-eating disease caused by dirty needles.’
Sangouthai died of ‘necrotizing fasciitis – bacterial skin infection – and chronic intravenous narcotism, which is IV drug abuse,’ a coroner’s official told TMZ.
‘#RIP To my big brother Jamie who always brought light into any room he walked into and laughter as well at all times J you will always be missed. Family for life. #BandOfBrothers #tbt,’ Heyward wrote in the caption.
A source told Us Weekly that Odom was ‘beside himself’ upon learing of Hewyard’s death as he was still close to him.
Heyward also was reportedly close to Odom’s estranged wife Khloe Kardashian, 30, who reached out to Odom in the wake of Sangouthai’s death.
Heyward described Odom as a ‘big brother’ figure in a February 2013 article in the LA Weekly about his bourré card game business endeavour.
‘He’s like a big brother to me,’ Heyward said of Odom who taught him the card game favoured by NBA players.
Heyward is the son of 66-year-old Andy Heyward who was the former CEO of animation production company DIC Entertainment.
He was a producer on television shows such as America’s Next Top Model, Sons Of Hollywood and Love Games: Bad Girls Need Love Too.
Heyward lived in Malibu, California and was survived by his father Andy, mother Amy and two siblings.
Eh yah… must be real tough on him, hmm.
