Lil Wayne finally gives an update on ‘Tha Carter V’

At this point, Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter V has been delayed for — I forget? — about a million years. Something like that. Maybe 100,000 years.

Whatever the exact number is, a couple things are clear: Wayne hasn’t slowed down working — Sorry 4 the Wait 2 and the Free Weezy Album dropped earlier this year; and fans have been patiently, but eagerly awaiting the album’s release.

Now we finally have another update on the project. Kind of.

“I work every single day,” Tunechi told ESPN’s Cari Champion on her podcast, “Be Honest.” “I’m in the studio every single day. I’m not working on any certain thing, I just be working. So for me to say this or that, I’d be lying. I do have Tha Carter V finished, though. What I am working on right now is a way, a deal, and a comfortable deal to put Tha Carter V out.”

OK. That’s not the most revelatory update, but we do know for sure both that the album is finished, and that he’s trying to find a deal where he can put it out.
