A senior administration police officer who shot and killed his girlfriend, 20, in the early hours of Monday, April, 18 is currently being hunted down by the police in Isiolo.
According to Tuko.co.ke, the suspect is believed to have killed the victim, Halima Omar, after he returning to his house from night duty. It is not yet clear why he killed his lover who was in the house at the time of his return.
The deceased is said to have been preparing breakfast when she was shot.
Her body was found lying in the house by detectives.
Abdalla immediately fled the scene of crime and police have launched a manhunt for him. He will face charges of murder and misuse of a firearm if and when arrested.
According to Isiolo County Criminal Investigation Officer (CCIO) David Cheruiyot, the suspect shot his lover on the chest killing her instantly at around 6 AM.
The woman’s family called for the immediate arrest and prosecution of the officer.
Ms Omar’s body was taken to Isiolo Hospital mortuary for post-mortem ahead of burial later Monday as per Muslim rites.
