After 6 years of marriage, Tameka “Tiny” Cottle-Harris has reportedly filed for divorce from husband, rapper T.I.
According to TMZ, Tiny, 41, filed earlier this month in Henry County, Georgia. Tiny is reportedly seeking joint legal custody and primary physical custody of the couple’s three children — two sons (King Harris, 12 and Major Philant Harris, 8) and daughter Heiress, 9 months.
Tiny also has an older daughter, Zonnique Pullins, from a previous relationship while T.I., 36, has 3 other children from previous relationships, as well: Messiah, Domani and Deyjah.
According to court documents obtained by Entertainment Tonight, Tiny, who has reportedly been living separately from T.I., claimed her reason for divorce is the marriage is “irretrievably broken with no hope of reconciliation.” She is seeking child support and alimony from the Atlanta rapper and wants all property owned between the two of them to be split evenly.
In addition, the docs address the couple’s debt, saying “due to the high earning ability of Defendant, he should be responsible for said debt.”
T.I. reportedly has until January 6 to respond to the case. If he doesn’t, Tiny will receive what she requested in the filing in a default judgment.
In August, a rep for Tiny denied rumors of a divorce, saying, “For them, it will always be family over everything.”
“Certain blogs have ‘reported’ that she’s going to be a single mom, she’s getting a divorce, she has a new residence and everything in between. On behalf of Mrs. Harris, this is the truth – Tameka and TI are good. They love each other and they have a beautiful family with seven amazing children.”
While T.I. is well known as a performer and songwriter, Tiny is a Grammy-winner for her writing credit on TLC’s “No Scrubs” and manages the girl group OMG. T.I. and Tiny also star in the VH1 reality show T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle.
T.I. and Tiny have yet to address the divorce publicly.
