Well, Fitness expert, Maje Ayida has finally spoken up about Toke Makinwa’s ‘must-tell’ book On Becoming and is doing it legally.

According to TheCable, Maje Ayide has hired legal luminaries including Carter-Ruck, a leading defamation law firm in the UK as well as Kemi Pinheiro (SAN) of Pineiro LP , asking Toke to stop sales as well as all promotional activities connected with the book.

Makinwa in her book had accused Ayida of infidelity, adultery and giving her sexually transmitted diseases while they were together, but in the papers served Makinwa, Ayida’s lawyers described her claims as totally untrue, containing defamatory words and an “exaggerated fabrication’.

In a letter of demand sent again this morning, February 3, 2017, Makinwa was given seven days to retrieve all copies of the books sold, delete the e-distribution of the book, and upon agreement with Ayida, must schedule a place where all copies of the retrieved books must be destroyed. She must also “retract” the “published words” and write a full page apology to Ayida in three Nigerian newspapers.

The letter also claims that Ayida had “requested legal separation” from Toke Makinwa “within 6 months” of their marriage in January 2014 “when it became clear that the marriage was breaking down.”

Maje stated that Toke’s book has brought “public ridicule” to him and that his reputation has been “assaulted, injured and damaged.”

“His professional integrity as one of the leading health and wellness practitioners in Nigeria, and his professional credibility built over the years through dedicated hard work have been besmirched”the court paper stated.
