Audu Maikori has been released from custody of the Nigerian secret service (DSS), 24 hours after his arrest in Lagos State, and subsequent transfer to Abuja.
The Chocolate City boss was arrested by the Nigerian Police Force in Lagos and flown to DSS Headquarters in Abuja yesterday, February 17 over his recent comments on the killings in Southern Kaduna.
Nigerians immediately swung into action with the hashtag #freeAudu on social media demanding his release.
Earlier today, Oby Ezekwezili after speaking with the governor of Kaduna state, Mallam Nasir El Rufai said he had agreed to free Maikori today.
M.I Abaga confirmed his release on Twitter, saying he has spoken to Maikori.
