Nigerian entertainment mogul and co-founder of Chocolate City was on Friday rearrested by the Nigerian Police two days after he collapsed at the Muson Centre venue of the annual Women in Management, Business and Public service (WIMBIZ) conference hosted by Ebony Life Tv founder, Mo Abudu, he was rushed to St Nicholas hospital afterwards.

Report say Maikori has been whisked off to Kaduna state where informed sources say he will be arraigned on Monday. The charges against him remain unclear at the time of this report.

Recall Maikori was first arrested in Lagos and later flown to DSS headquarters Abuja on February 17, following a Facebook post on the Southern Kaduna killings. He later retracted the statement after it turned out some of the details of the post were inaccurate. Despite retracting the post and apologising, He was arrested by the police but was released a day after following intense social media pressure.

His arrest comes after Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, profusely vowed to prosecute Maikori and make him face the consequence of posting false news on social media while speaking at the recently concluded Social Media Week Lagos event on the invitation of EiE Nigeria.

Close family sources believe there is no case against Maikori, “This is purely personal, political and an attempt to silence the voices of the oppressed people of Southern Kaduna”.
