The wife of Nigeria’s former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Taiwo Obasanjo yesterday filed a suit at an Ikeja High Court, seeking to stop the wedding of her son, Olujonwo Obasanjo, scheduled for May 11.

The father of the bride, Kessington Adebutu, promoter of Premier Lotto known as “Baba Ijebu” is also a respondent in the suit.

Taiwo Obasanjo is seeking a postponement of the wedding of her son to Tope Adebutu scheduled for May 11 and May 12.

According to Vanguard, she claimed she had received warnings and prophesies from men of God that her son should not be involved in any elaborate celebration before his 34th birthday on June 1. She also said she has been excluded from the preparations of the ceremonies as invitations have been sent out.

Taiwo Obasanjo is seeking a court declaration to compel the Adebutu and Obasanjo to shift the wedding to a date after June 1, and as the mother of the groom, she has rights to take part in the decision making of the ceremony

Justice Lateefa Okunnu has fixed April 10 for the hearing of the suit no. ID/262FPM/2017.
