It was an emotional farewell service as friends and family came together yesterday to say their final goodbyes to former England defender Ugo Ehiogu in London.
Amongst those present at the funeral to pay their last respect were; England manager Gareth Southgate, Gary Mabbutt, Pat Jennings, members of the Academy Squad and former team-mates.
The 44-year-old, Tottenham’s Under-23s coach, died April 21 in hospital last month after collapsing at the club’s training ground. He suffered a cardiac arrest. His death has been described by the Tottenham family’ as a big loss.
Ehiogu’s widow, Gemma, said her husband’s dream was for every child to be able to play football, and that money donated would be used to create a charity to help enable that.
He also left behind two children.
