Bigwigs honour Obafemi Hamzat as he holds 8th Fidau prayer for his late father.
Lagos Deputy Governor-elect, Obafemi Hamzat, has honoured his late father with a befitting 8th Day Fidau prayer.
The late prominent politician, Oba Muftau Olatunji Hamzat, who died on Sunday, 12 May, at the age of 86 has been laid to rest, according to Muslim rites.
The well-wishers and APC party faithfuls, a few days ago, thronged the Blue Roof, Lagos Television Ground, Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos, in their hundreds to honour the deceased.
Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, the immediate past Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, as well as Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, wife of the National leader of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, were some notable personalities who graced the event.
Other notable faces at the event included, Lagos State Governor-elect, Babajide Sanwo-Olu; Ogun State Governor-elect, Prince Dapo Abiodun; Lagos Deputy Governor, Dr. Oluranti Adebule; former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel; wife of the Oyo State Governor, Florence Ajimobi; former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Princess Sarah Sosan; Princess Adejoke Adefulire; and Lagos Head of Service, Hakeem Muri-Okunola.
Chief Henry Ajomale; Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa; Senator Ganiyu Olarenwaju Solomon, GOS; Senator representing Lagos Central in the Senate, Olamilekan Solomon; former House of Representatives member, Yakubu Balogun; member of the House of Representatives, Rotimi Agunsoye; Alhaji Busura Alebiosu-Bush, and former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Otunba Femi Pedro, also condoled with the family.
The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Adewale Akanbi, members of the Governor’s Advisory Council, GAC, Muslim and Christian clerics and several others were part of the prayer.
