MTN recently hosted a dinner in Abuja to celebrate 18 years in Nigeria and the milestone of being listed in the Nigerian Stock Exchange.
The outgoing Chairman of MTN, billionaire businessman, Pascal Dozie, on Wednesday headlined a formal dinner to celebrate the staff, customers, stakeholders, the old board members and the success behind being listed in the Nigerian Stock Exchange in May, 2019.
The celebration, which held on Wednesday with eminent personalities and top politicians in attendance, enabled MTN to celebrate the huge milestone which interestingly happened to be the same day the first call was made on an MTN line by the company’s chairman, Dr. Pascal Dozie, 18 years ago in Nigeria.
Dozie, in his welcome address at the dinner party, appreciated longtime advisers, regulators, customers and people who have played diverse roles in shaping the course of company in the last years.
“Tonight, we want to celebrate you, and say thank you, for all you have done. We would not have been here without you.”
“I must say that from the moment I made that first phone call on an MTN line, through the years leading up to the day the company listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange, it has been a journey of many highs and some low points.
“As we prepare for the next phase of our journey, I remain optimistic, and I know that our future achievements will be much better than the success of the last 18 years,” he said.
