The Nigerian police, on Monday, arrested Hon. Shina Peller, owner of the popular celebrity hangout, Quilox.
Peller is a member of the House of Representatives, representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa federal constituency.
Peller, who was detained at the Maroko Police Station after his arrest, was said to have visited the station to secure the bail of some of his club patrons who were nabbed for parking on the road during a show at the club.
Kola Popoola, the media aide to the lawmaker, revealed in a statement that the arrest of his principal was unjustified.
“The continuous harassment and unjust detain of a member of House of Representatives, Hon. Peller, by the police calls for urgent attention of the media, and the commissioner of Police.
“Prior to the kickoff of the 36 hours non-stop show which usually holds every year at Quilox, Hon. Peller had informed the concerned Lagos traffic authorities to avoid unnecessary traffic gridlock.
“On getting to Moroko police station, the police started harassing Hon. Peller and even went as far as seizing all his phones for no reason,” Popoola said.
Peller, as at the time of filing this report, was yet to be released from the station.
