Kano was agog on Friday as eminent personalities across the country, including top military brass, captains of industry, and political bigwigs stormed the sprawling city to be part of the wedding ceremony of Fatiah, the first son of Senator Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan, the Senate President.
The beautiful bride, identified as Amani, is the daughter of the businessman, Alhaji Bala Umar, an indigene of Kano.
The marriage ceremony kicked off on Wednesday with the bridal shower or Kamu in Hausa, followed by a dinner on Thursday.
Both events held at Meena Event Centre in Kano.
The final leg of the wedding which climaxed the three-day-party affair took place on Friday at the popular Al Furquan Mosque, GRA, Kano.
Top functionaries at the wedding included the Green Chamber Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, and hundreds of other lawmakers.
Dr Isa Ali Pantami, the Minister of Communications, at the ceremony, gave out Amani in marriage, while the Yobe State Governor, Mai Bala Buni, received the bride.
