<p>Liberia’s President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has dedicated the county’s first state-of-the art eye clinic today at the John F Kennedy Memorial Medical Center, in Monrovia.</p>.<p>The opening of the clinic is part of celebrations to mark the country’s 170th independence anniversary this week.</p>.<p>Cornea transplants will now be performed in the country for the first time, and seven patients have been selected for the maiden operations.</p>.<p>Source: <strong>BBC Africa</strong></p>
