Former Golden Eaglet star, Kelechi Iheanacho has boasted that he has had a good pre-season with Manchester City and is ready to lead the team in the challenge for trophies.

The 18-year-old star has played in five games for the Citizens and also boast of two assists.

Iheanacho is expected to feature prominently in Manuel Pellegrini’s squad in the new season after Stevan Jovetic joined Inter Milan.

“I thank God for my performance, it’s a very good performance in pre-season,”

“We’ve played six games, I’ve played in five games and I have two goals and two assists, so it’s a very good performance for me and I’m happy with the performance.”

“It’s a tough game against a strong team [Stuttgart], so it was a very difficult game but we shouldn’t have lost,” he added.

“Because we are the big team, quality players are playing but it’s the game, you can lose or win.

“I composed myself, I scored the goal, we needed more goals in the second-half but we couldn’t score as much.

“But I was happy to score in this game,” he told City TV after the game against Stuttgart.
