We have compiled a round up of all the football news making the rounds, today.

1. Klopp Says, “Liverpool must do to Plymouth what they did to United”;

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp wants his side to do to Plymouth Argyle “what we did to Manchester United” in their FA Cup third-round replay on Wednesday.

He said,

“I heard a lot of things after the game but it was really a concentrated defensive performance(by Plymouth) and we could not come through, so all the credit for Plymouth,” the German told reporters.

“I do not know if the plan from the first second was to be that deep or not but it is up to us to do something about it. We cannot wait until they do something and try to make a counterattack. There are possibilities to speed up the game but we did not use them in the first game. We spoke already about it and the game will be different.

“We have to do what we did to Manchester United, to cool the atmosphere down with the way we play. That is what our main target is for this game.

“We cannot react to what they do. They are allowed to defend with all they have because we are a Premier League team and they are a League Two team.

“Usually, they play differently; they are a top team in League Two. But to go to the next round, as a lower-league team, you should concentrate on defence. That absolutely makes sense. If they open the space, we will take it, but I do not expect it.”

2. Dortmund Trash Paderborn;

The Bundesliga giants ended their mid-season break with a resounding friendly win over Paderborn, although Sven Bender limped off in the early stages.

Marco Reus, Castro, Andre Schurrle, and Mario Gotze found the net as Borussia Dortmund cruised to a resounding 6-1 friendly romp over third-tier Paderborn on Tuesday.

The only source note was Sven Bender’s injury.

3. Costa Returns To Training;

The Blues forward had been training separately while trying to shake off a back problem but he has since been reunited with his team-mates. He has returned to training with Chelsea’s first team after missing the last four sessions with a back injury – amid a row over his contract with Antonio Conte following interest from Chinese Super League club Tianjin Quanjian.

Costa, 28, was dropped from the squad as the Blues downed Leicester 3-0 in the Premier League on Saturday, but he returns ahead of their next game against Hull City on Sunday.

4. Referee Mike Dean Demoted;

Mike Dean has been demoted to the Championship following fierce criticism of his officiating over the festive period.

The referee endured an eventful December, with his decisions to send off Sofiane Feghouli during West Ham’s clash with Manchester United, and his reticence to dismiss Ross Barkley during the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park also came under scrutiny.

While Dean has since refereed an FA Cup fixture between Tottenham and Aston Villa, and Stoke City’s victory over Sunderland, the official has been ordered to take a step away from the Premier League for a weekend.

5. Yaya Toure Has No Interest In Big Money Move;

Yaya Toure has no interest in a move to China this month, or in the near future, and will finish the season with Manchester City, Goal understands.

It is being reported on Tuesday evening that Toure has rejected a £430,000-per-week offer from a Chinese Super League club.

Sources close to Toure insist the offer is merely the latest of several attempts from various Chinese sides to tempt the Ivorian.

6. Juventus ridiculed for their “condom” Logo;

Juventus unveiled their brand new logo on Monday… to a cacophony of anger, horror and ridicule on social media.

The Scudetto holders have rebranded their club logo into a ‘J’ consisting of two distinct white lines on black background.

Although Juventus were emphatic in their excitement at their ‘rebranding’, fans and football neutrals across Twitter mocked what they perceived as a stylistic abomination.

One Twitter user said, “That #Juventus badge looks like a condom Logo.”

They went from a 100 to a 0 real quick.
