Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira became the first foreign-born player to play for Brazil in 100 years.

Francisco Police was the last Foriegn born to play for the South American country in 1918.

Pereira who was also eligible to play for Belgium got his first Brazil call-up in the latest international break, and featured for the Selecao against El Salvador.

The technically gifted midfielder was an unused substitute in the game against USA but came on for his debut 70 minutes into the game at Maryland, USA.

Andreas has always maintained it was his “ultimate dream is to play for the first team of Brazil and win a World Cup.”

The 22-year-old was born in Duffel, Belgium, but has Brazilian roots(father is Brazilian). Pereira became only the fourth player born outside Brazil to wear the jersey of the five-time world champions.
