The first female coach of a male side in the top five divisions of German football, Imke Wübbenhorst, sarcastically shut down a journalist following a sexist question by the reporter.
Wübbenhorst became the first female coach at that level of German football when she was appointed as BV Cloppenburg’s coach last December.
Since her appointment as coach, several questions have been asked about her credentials and how she will fair in the men's game.
One of such questions, obviously motivated by her gender, was asked by a Weld reporter recently.
In an interview with the former Germany international, the journalist asked whether her players should cover themselves up before she walked into the dressing room and Imke sarcastically retorted:
“Of course not. I’m a professional. I pick the team on penis size.”
Wübbenhorst spent most of her career playing with Cloppenburg’s women’s team and later coached them.
The 30-year-old has now made the transition into the men's team and would take charge of her first game next month, due to the winter break in the Oberliga Niedersachsen.
