Memphis Depay Is Open To Joining Manchester City Or Chelsea
Former Manchester United winger, Memphis Depay, has opened the door on a move to Chelsea or Manchester City, as he aims to get another high-profile switch from Lyon.
The Dutch international was signed for the United in 2015 for £25m under Loius van Gaal but was eventually sold by Jose Mourinho in January 2017 as he failed to live up to expectation.
Although the Red Devils hold a buy-back clause inserted in the deal for him that saw the player depart, it does seem like he is not interested in a move back to the club.
Asked about his preferred club options going forward, the 24-year-old told Helden:
Lyon is a big club, but not one of the five best in Europe.
I want to go to a club like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain or Bayern Munich.
I want to go to a city that suits me and a club that suits me, to a team that really wants to play football. I always talk about Real Madrid, a royal club, white shirts with gold.
But I’m focused right now on Lyon, and then we see where I end up.
Depay scored only seven timeds in 53 outings for United but has rediscovered his best form for Lyon since joining them.
