A new date for the kick off of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations which will hold in Egypt has been announced by CAF after an emergency executive meeting in Cairo, Egypt.

The tournament which was scheduled to start on the 14th of June has been moved forward by a week to the 21st of June.

The decision was taken after a number of Muslim North African nations, including Morocco, Tunisia, and Algeria requested for the competition to be shifted to allow players rest after the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
