Nigeria's female national team, the Super Falcons, earned their first win at the Cyprus Cup with a 4-3 victory against Slovakia at the Antonis Papadopoulos Stadium, Larnaca.

Two goals from Rita Chikwelu and one for Oshinachi Ohale gave the Nigerian ladies a 3-0 lead in the first half.

But the Europeans crawled their way back into the game to set up a frenetic closure to the game.

Jana Votjeková and Lcia Harsanyová (two penalties) scored for the Slovaks as they stunned the African champions in nine second-half minutes.

The West Africans, however, showed their quality when Anam Imo finished off Asisat Oshoala's pass 8 minutes from time.

The Falcons fought hard to hold on to their narrow lead against Peter Kopun's side to get the win after the 4-1 defeat in their first game against Austria on Wednesday.

They next play Belgium in their final group game on Monday.
