Man United Fan Undergoes Surgery After He Was Stabbed By Paris Taxi Driver

A Manchester United Fan was stabbed in Paris by a disgruntled taxi driver who hated his celebration after his club’s victory.

A 44-year-old Manchester United fan who was reportedly stabbed by a taxi driver in Paris has undergone surgery and is currently in recovery according to Sky Sports.

The man who was travelling with three other United supporters was said to have been stabbed by the driver who took offence to them singing in celebration of United's dramatic late winner.

The driver pulled out a knife to threaten a female supporter in the group after he had stopped to get them out of his taxi.

The victim was stabbed in the chest when he tried to intervene.

The victim who is now recovering at the High Dependency Unit at the Hospital Europeen Georges-Pompidou could be out by Monday.

A Manchester United spokesperson confirming the incident said: "We were shocked to hear about the incident with one of our fans who was stabbed while in Paris for the Champions League game.

"Everyone at the club wishes him well during his recovery."

United turned a 2-0 first leg deficit against PSG in Paris with two goals from Romelu Lukaku and a late controversial penalty converted by Marcus Rashford cancelling out Juan Bernet strike for the French champions.
