Paul Pogba has honoured his French teammates, who were part of the World Cup winning squad, with a personalized NBA styled champions ring encrusted in diamonds worth about £50, 000 each.

Although it's been almost a year since they conquered the world in Russia, the midfielder is still appreciative of what he has described as a 'lifetime' achievement.

Each of the rings features three carats of white diamonds, rubies and sapphires to represent the tricolours of the French flag, along with the French national team logo and the words “World Champions" inscribed by the side, as well as each player's name.

Atletico Madrid forward and Pogba's close friend, Antoine Griezmann, helped with the designing of the ring which was then crafted and manufactured by Jason of Beverly Hills.

“It’s a small gesture after winning a World Cup with great players,” Pogba told the press at France’s training centre ahead of their win against Moldova.

“I consider them my family. It’s a small gift from me. A small gesture like that is nothing because a World Cup is for life. This ring you can lose, but the World Cup you do not lose that.”

“The players’ reaction was good, they thanked me,” he finished.

This is the second time the former World record signing is gifting his teammates items after winning a competition.

The 26-year-old bought gifts for his former teammates at Juventus when they won a fourth successive Scudetto before he left for Manchester United.
