Super Eagles gaffer, Gernot Rohr, has closed the window of opportunity to let new players into the national team ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Egypt in June.

The German tactician will no longer invite any new faces to the team's camp as he already has all the players he needs.

However, the coaching crew would continue to monitor Nigerian talents worldwide for other future assignments.

Rohr disclosed this in a post-match interview after Nigeria's win over the Pharaohs of Egypt 1-0 in Asaba.

“(The) window for new player invitations to Super Eagles is closed. We will continue to scout but no new invitations for AFCON2019,” the 65-year-old stated.

Paul Onuachu scored his first goal for the Super Eagles on his full debut as he impressed both the coach and fans.

“We now have a different type of striker, a tall one from Denmark did very well (vs Egypt), but he has to still improve,” said Rohr of the 24-year-old before revealing that the early goal was planned.

“We planned to score right from the kick-off. It was the quickest goal I ever saw as a coach. It was very nice.”

The FC Midtjylland of Denmark striker's goal under seven seconds after the start of the game is the second fastest goal in the history of international football.
