Manchester United celebrated Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's full-time appointment with a win over Watford at the Theatre of Dreams.

Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial scored in both halves to ensure that Abdoulaye Doucoure’s late goal was only a consolation.

Although the Red Devils got the all important three points to boost their top four hopes, they were far from impressive with Watford largely the better of the two sides.

United left-back, Luke Shaw has criticized their described parts of their performance against Javi Gracia's men as 'awful'.

Shaw who overcame a knock that made him withdraw from England squad for their Euro qualifiers against Czech republic and Montenegro told BBC Sport: "We made it harder with the way we played. There were times when we weren't at our best.

"We were awful in the second half, we were lucky with the result. The most important thing is the three points.

"We had a few chances but we didn't take them. We need to get ourselves together again and focus on Wolves. We want to go there and get the win."

United's next game is on Tuesday against a Wolves side that knocked them out of the FA at the Molineux just before the international break.
