Highlights: Keita And Firmino Give Liverpool 2-0 Advantage Over Porto
Liverpool put themselves in a great position going into the second leg of the champions league quarter-final against FC Porto with 2-0 win at Anfield.
First-half goals from Naby Keita and Roberto Firmino were enough to help the Reds past a disappointing Porto side who were looking to revenge their last 16 losses from last season.
It was a solid performance by Klopp's men as they extended their good home form across all European competitions to 21.
The Premier League table toppers got into an early lead when Keita's deflected shot off Oliver Torres left Iker Casillas rooted to the ground.
Before Salah missed a begging chance to put them 2-0 up on 22 minutes after he was played through on goal by James Milner.
His blushes were spared four minutes later, though, when Firmino tapped into an empty net after some good work by Henderson and Trent Alexander-Arnold on the right.
Porto got their chance to pull one back but Moussa Marega’s low shot was kept out by the left foot of Alisson Becker in Liverpool's goal.
The Portuguese side got other chances to get an important away goal in the second half through Marega but fell short with each opportunity.
Salah was lucky not to have seen a red card for an ugly challenge on Danilo Pereira in the closing stages of the game.
Liverpool will now switch focus to their crucial Premier League clash at home to Chelsea on Sunday while Porto will play away to Portimonese a day earlier in the Primeira Liga.
