Premier League’s Team of the Year for the 2018-19 season has been revealed with players from title rivals Liverpool and Manchester City dominating.

The high profile exemption from the list is Chelsea's Eden Hazard while Manchester United's Paul Pogba is the only player not from Manchester City or Liverpool to be selected by fellow professionals.

Pep Guardiola's table toppers had six representatives - Ederson, Aymeric Laporte, Fernandinho, Bernardo Silva, Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero.

Liverpool had four players voted in the team - van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Robertson and Sadio Mane, with Mohamed Salah not getting enough votes despite being tied for the top scorer in the league.

While Salah missing out on the team isn't much of a problem for many, it is the inclusion of Pogba in the team and Eden Hazard's exclusion that has raised eyebrows.

The French midfielder has scored 13 goals and assisted 9 this season but was dropped for the final matches of Jose Mourinho’s tenure and has had a dip in form under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in recent weeks.

Hazard, on the other hand, has been on superb form this season even though his team has been below par, scoring 16 goals and assisting a further 13 goals.
