Villareal starlet, Samuel Chukwueze, will not be included in Nigeria's Flying Eagles squad for the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland, instead, the 19-year-old would be one of the players considered by Gernot Rohr when he picks his squad for the African Cup of Nations.

Chukwueze is one of the foreign-based stars listed by Flying Eagles head coach, Paul Aigbogun, but it appears he isn't keen on playing in the tournament.

The winger would instead prefer to be on the plane to Egypt when the Super Eagles take on the rest of Africa.

Chukwueze impressed during his debut for the Super Eagles against Uganda last year and followed it up with another fine performance for the U-23 in their Olympic qualifiers against Libya.

The 2015 U-17 World Cup winner, who turns 20 later this month, is eligible to play at the world youth championship but his club, Villarreal, has made it known he will only be allowed to take part in one of the two competitions.

Super Eagles gaffer already expressed his likeness for the left-footed forward, telling BBC Sports: "It is a little dilemma that we must try to fix and hopefully there will be a good solution."

But it seems a decision has been made on the tournament the youngster will play this summer with Media Officer of the Flying Eagles, Andrew Randa, confirming Chukwueze won’t be part of the Flying Eagles squad to the U-20 World Cup.

Responding to a follower on Twitter who had complained about Nigeria's stance on Chukwueze, he wrote: "Point of correction. Chukwueze specifically requested to be invited for the U20’s. He wasn’t in the mix originally. I can also confirm to you that he won’t be in Poland. Cheers."
