Accuser Drops Her Rape Lawsuit Against Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo, the 34-year-old Portuguese and Juventus goal poacher was charged to court for allegedly raping a lady in his penthouse Suite at a Las Vegas Hotel in 2009.

The accuser later identified as Katheryn Mayorga filed a complaint on September 27, 2018.

Mayorga asserted that while she agreed to a settlement with Ronaldo after the alleged assault, she experienced severe emotional trauma at the time and was not competent enough to participate in the mediation.

The Las Vegas police department, reopened an investigation into the rape allegations, following the lawsuit last year.

Furthermore, the New York Times reported in January that law enforcement officials had requested DNA samples of Ronaldo from the Italian authorities.

Recall that these accusations fueled speculations as a reason Cristiano Ronaldo was snubbed at the recent Ballon d’Or.

The five-time winner of the Ballon d’Or, Cristiano Ronaldo is also the sport’s most influential player on social media.

His marketing potential supercharged Juventus during his arrival to the Turin club from Spain’s Real Madrid on July 10. Doubling the value of their stock in months.

This contentious rape accusation was bad for the business and image for Cristiano Ronaldo.

Thus one of his biggest employers, NIKE were keen to have the case sorted out immediately to avoid tarnishing the image of the leading sports brand.

New reports have emerged from reliable sources that the Accuser, Katheryn Mayorga has dropped her lawsuit and Cristiano has been cleared from all his charges.

Although Leslie Stovall, a lawyer for Mayorga, and Peter Christiansen, a lawyer for Ronaldo, have both refused to give an immediate response to the reason of the rape suit dismissal.
