In the early hours of Friday, the Copa America quarter-final match between Brazil and Paraguay ended in a goalless draw. The Selecao of Brasilia had 26 shots on goal but could not break the resolute defense of Paraguay.

Brazil bossed the entire match with 70% possession of the ball. Midway into the game, West Ham and Paraguay player, Fabian Balbuena, was sent off for his rash tackles. Brazil failed to capitalize on their one-man advantage but managed to win the game on penalty shootout.

Barcelona attacker, Coutinho, scored his penalty, while Manchester City forward, Gabriel Jesus, converted his spot kick, William of Chelsea also did same, even Newcastle’s new boy and winger, Miguel Almiron, joined the party. However, Firmino, Liverpool's forward missed his penalty, but it took the heroics of another Liverpool player to save his blushes. Alison Becker, Liverpool's goalkeeper saved a penalty that helped his country go on to qualify for the semi-final, in what some will call an "EPL all stars night".

One player could not hide his excitement and that was Manchester City Number 9, Gabriel Jesus.

"Unfortunately in the last game, I could not finish the penalty, I was upset, sad, pissed off with myself, I did not hit it my way. I was confident today, hitting my way I have more of a chance to score," he said.

Brazil will now face Argentina led by Barcelona star, Messi.
