David De Gea Signs New 6-Year Contract

After having a torrid 2018-19 season, David De Gea has been offered a new long term contract by Manchester United that will make him the highest-paid goalkeeper in the world.

The Manchester United shot stopper has been the most sort after goalkeeper. The likes of PSG and Real Madrid have offered him mouthwatering deals, especially the Los Galacticos who mulled over the 28-year-old for over four years. His patience has finally been rewarded. Reports suggest that he will be earning a new £375,000 per week, making him the second-best paid Manchester United player, behind Alexis Sanchez. The new 6-year contract is said to be worth £110m.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Manchester United’s manager, is still in search of his first silverware. However, he has reaffirmed his confidence in DDG (David De Gea), as many believes the wage hike will help DDG focus on giving his best on the pitch. The Red Devils will head into a new 2019-20 season making just two major signings of Daniel James and Aaron Wan Bissaka. Rumours also have it that Gareth Bale might be on his way to Manchester but no concrete bid has been made.

Close sources to the Spanish number one goalie have indicated to media outlets that the Spaniard is grateful for the support he has received from the manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and the goalkeeping team following the outcome of last season where he performed below his standard.
